When we first started living together, you brought your The Feminist Fix-It Book. I could joke and say I was the only one to use it, but use it we did. You have always done so much, that I fell back into the clumsy footsteps of my father. He was handy. Me, not so much. But I was smart enough to see you were the one.
For 45 years, we have played our roles, found our marks in the dark, as all good actors do, finding the light. But that slim paperback -The Feminist Fix-It Book- was always there to guide us. I keep hoping for the time of women leaders, as men have done such a lousy, horrific job seemingly forever.
But if women ruled, would women become as corrupt as we have become? Who knows? Most likely. In my lifetime, I will never see the answer. So let us bring the focus back to what I can control in my own life. I could never control you, and I never tried, because being your partner in this adventure is such a gift.
Feminism has been a gift as well, and I see you passing the gift down to our daughter, who inspires me as much you have done.
You are woman hear you roar, in numbers to big to ignore.
